It is a branch of technology known as information security as applied to computers and networks.The objectives of computer security includes protection of informaton and property from theft,corruption,or natural disaster,while allowing the information and property to remain accesibleand productive to its intended users. The terms computer system security,means the collective processes and mechanisms by which sensitive and valuable information and services are protectedfrom publication,tampering or collape by unauthorized acitivities or untrust worthy individuals and unplanned events respectively.
The terms Network security and information secuirty are often used interchangeably.Network secuirty is generally taken as providing protection at the boundaries of an organization by keeeping
out intruders(hackers). Information security,however,explicitly focuses on protecting data resoures from malware attack or simple mistakes by people within an organization by use of Data
Loss Prevention (DLP) techniques.
