Averave Acess Time
Milliseconds measures the average access time or the speed at which a hard disk finds data. One
millisecond equals 1/1000 of a second. Most hard disks have an average access time of 8m to 15m.
The lower the average access time, the faster the hard disk.
UDMA
Hard disks using Ultar Direct Memory Access (UDMA) technology can transfer data to and from a computer faster. If you are using a UDMA harddisk, your computer must also use UDMA
techonology for a faster speed.UDMA is also known as ultra ATA.
External Harddisk
Some hard disk are located outside the computer case.An external hard disk can be kept on
your computer. When an external harddisk malfunctions or needs to be upgraded,it is very easy to replace.Another advantage of a harddisk is that it can also easily be transported to another computer.
